Fire accident at Taiwan club
« on: June 28, 2015, 05:23:18 PM »

Clubgoers scrambled to escape a cloud of fire at a Taipei, Taiwan, water park when a flammable powder ignited over a dance floor and seriously injured at least 80 people, reports said.

The accident took about 1,000 dancers at the Formosa Water Park by surprise overnight Friday. About 200 were injured when the venue sprayed a purple, red and green powder onto the “Color Play Asia” crowd below, according to the South China Morning Post.

Rescue workers tend to injured people at the Formosa Fun Coast amusement park after an explosion injured about 200 people on a dance floor overnight Friday.

The brunt of the flames lasted for just a half-minute, but the video shows what appears to be a person covered in flames running to the sidelines.

Many of the injured, about 200 total, were wearing bathing suits that exposed their legs and arms to the hot flames. Victims were shown being treated outside the water park while sprawled on inflatable rafts.
